Let’s get into it!
UFC Career of Shane Burgos
Shane Burgos entered into the UFC back in December of 2016. At that time, he was a surging prospect with a 7-0 record with each win coming before the final bell. He made an immediate impact in his debut with a unanimous decision win in an entertaining battle against Brazilian veteran Tiago Trator.
Less than four months later, Burgos stepped back into the cage against tough Bostonian Charles Rosa. In one of the most entertaining bouts of 2017, these two went to war until Burgos earned the TKO finish in the third round. The win cemented his status as one of the most promising young fighters in the sport.
Shane fought again in July of 2017 and earned a unanimous decision over Godofredo Pepey, bringing his record to an impressive 10-0. After three straight UFC wins, Burgos was called up to the main card of UFC 220 to fight Calvin Kattar. The two fought tooth-and-nail until Kattar landed a perfect combination in the third round to hand Burgos the first loss of his career.
Burgos vs. Holobaugh Odds at Intertops Sportsbook
Shane Burgos and Kurt Holobaugh will be fighting on the Fight Pass prelims. It’s one of the most anticipated fights amongst hardcore fans, and the odds are now set by sites like Intertops Sportsbook.
It’s not much of a surprise to see Burgos coming into this fight as the significant favorite. He’s an extremely talented striker, with defensive head movement not often seen in mixed martial arts. He’s lost only once in his career, and that fight was a back-and-forth battle. At the moment, Burgos enters this fight as the favorite with odds of -340.
Kurt Holobaugh is a very talented fighter in his own right. He first began his UFC career back in 2013, but lost his debut fight with the promotion and was removed from the roster. After a solid run in the regional scene and an impressive win on Dana White’s Contender Series (later overturned), he earned another UFC contract but fell short in his return via third round KO to Raoni Barcelos.
There’s no doubt that Kurt’s back is against the wall here. He’s a veteran of the sport, yet the oddsmakers list him as the considerable underdog with current odds of +245 to get the win on Saturday.
